Sup.
There’s nothing like a relaxing Sunday evening with a candle lit and the sun setting silently on the horizon. I’ve had a lot of thoughts I wanted to share with y’all over the past few months since my last missive to y’all but never really wrote any of them to full fruition. Sometimes, that’s the way the keyboard crumbles.
It’s surprising to me that I didn’t send out an edition of this newsletter between February and now. The reason being is that I was mostly idle for that period of time. Unemployed and unencumbered during the daylight hours, I should have been writing more, reading more. Alas, I did not. To be honest, I am not fully sure what I did with my time aside from look for, apply to, and interview for various jobs. Thankfully, I am now employed and it’s been a joy to be working again. I have never been more aware of how important it is to have a purpose in life, even if it’s “just a job.” We all need to be of use to someone other than ourselves in some manner, I think.
I somewhat recently got out of a, for lack of a better word, relationship. We’d only dated for three months or so and never had a discussion as to what we were or wanted from each other, which would have helped in the end. Alas, it was not meant to be. While I know it was the best decision for me, I still can’t help but feel the pangs of loss and sadness that come with anything of this sort. I miss the connection we had. The early days of fun and frolic. The late nights of laughter and loving.
I know this isn’t the end of dating for me, there’s still the frustration of having to start from square one with a new person. Such can be exciting but don’t try to convince me that dating isn’t damned hard and tiring at times as well, if not most of the time.
